Neck or Back Pain
Do You Have Neck or Back Pain From Spinal Stenosis?
A diagnosis of Spinal Stenosis means you have a narrowing of the spinal canal in one or more areas. Although it can occur anywhere on the spine, it is most frequently found in the lower back or neck. As this occurs, pressure can be put not only on the spinal cord, but also on its nerves in the area of the narrowing.
This is a condition that is usually found in older people as changes due to aging affects their spine; spinal discs can degenerate causing compression.
Other Symptoms of Spinal Stenosis
Pain isn’t always a part of Spinal Stenosis, but depending on where in the spine it is located, it can also cause:
- Bladder or bowel disfunction
- Numbness in
Arms- Legs
- Shoulders
- Back
- Neck
- Legs and arms become weak and lose coordination
Depending on the severity of your symptoms, your medical professional may diagnose pain medication or surgery, neither of which most people want to do.
